East Lake

East Lake is located in the east suburbs of Shaoxing, three kilometers from the city center. Featuring an elegant landscape of lakes and mountains as well as fantastic stones, East Lake is among the three famous lakes in Zhejiang. East Lake used to be a huge rocky hill in ancient China. After thousands of years’ of excavation, some parts of the mountain became hollow, forming unique scenery.

Keyan Scenic Area

The Keyan Scenic Area was one of the first national “AAAA level Tourist Spots.” It is famous for its ancient Yue culture, integrating the features of the Shaoxing water bodies, relics of an ancient quarry, and forestry ecology.

It was first built in the Han Dynasty, and has a history of over 1,800 years. In Qing Dynasty, the well-known “eight scenic spots of Keyan” came into being, and has been places of great interest since then. With more recent development and construction, Keyan now is composed of the natural sites of Jianhu Lake and peculiar rock formations, and cultural sites such as Luzhen ancient town based on the stories of Lu Xun.

Wu Xie (Five Waterfalls)
