World Choir Games
The World Choir Games (formerly named the Choir Olympics) is the largest choir competition in the world.
The World Choir Games is organized by Musica Mundi and INTERKULTUR Foundation. Ever since 1988, about 5,000 choirs from more than 90 countries worldwide have been able to experience the unifying power of music at 89 events. More than 220,000 participants, over half of them children and young people under the age of 25, have visited the events since their founding.
The motto is "Singing together brings nations together".
Every two years, choirs from all parts of the world come together to celebrate the World Choir Games to participate, to contribute one’s own performance, to compare to others and to experience the enthusiasm of singing together. The next host will be Shaoxing, China from 15 July until 26 July 2010.
