Tea GaloreChinese Green Tea... |
|
An intricate part of Chinese culture can be viewed through its teas and the ceremonies that acompany them. Some of the best teas of China are grown right here in Shaoxing. Dragon Well (longjin) Tea and Green Tea are popular in Shaoxing, and provide large part of China's (and the world's) supply. A visit to rural Shaoxing, Xinchang especially, will prove you this with its many rolling green hills. |
Tea plantations around Shaoxing are well worth a trip to see the tea picking, production and even packing techniques used. A number of tea houses will explain to you the tea culture and rules that belong to it. A top place to visit to get a legitimate feel for scale of Tea cultivation is the East Zhejiang Famous Tea Market in Chengguan Town of Xinchang. This market is the largest storage and distribution center of Longjin Tea and quite a few other variations. Modern technology has been used to improve conservation and ease of flow between marketers and the public. If you like, you can also spend the night since there is a quaint hotel in the upper floors. |
